Constant Water Pressure Mechanically
Constant Pressure Mechanically<< Back E-mail A Friend
This constant pressure system is usable with many different well pumps. It is adjustable from 15-150PSI with water flow up to 25GPM and can be retro-fitted to replace the tank you already have on your well system. If you were replacing a defective tank this is the perfect time for installation. It could even cost less than your replacement tank alone. The entire system cost less than one replacement part of an electric variable speed constant pressure system. It could even save money in electricity. Even if the valve becomes faulty, your pump is still able to produce water, but your dead in the water when a control center or pump fails with most electric variable speed constant pressure systems. Repair may be a simple cleaning of the valve with no expensive parts to replace. It is constructed of stainless steel and brass for long life. It requires little installation space and has an optional tank wall mount bracket and pump run dry feature available. This system simply mounts in the line between the pump and the end use, usually where your tank was mounted. It has never been cheaper and easier to have constant water pressure.
The first question I always get is so how does it work? The pump supplies a CSV1A stainles steel adjustable Cycle Stop Valve. On the pump side of the valve max pressure and volume is available. As water passes through the valve, the outlet pressure(adjustable 15-150PSI) remains constant as along as water is being used. When there is no more demand for water, the 4.4 gallon tank then fills up until the pressure switch(mounted on the valves outlet) reaches cut-off pressure(usually 5PSI above constant pressure selected). Remember, the system was not able to reach the pressure switch cut-off when water was flowing at constant pressure which is adjusted below the switches cut-off requirement. When water is demanded again, the tank supplies the water until the pressure switch cuts-in and the system goes back to constant pressure again. Because the valve has a restricted flow when water stops flowing, even a small use of water still allows the pump motor ample run time to cool back down to safe restart temperature before shutting down.
Don't overspend on such a simple task.
