Franklin's Capacitor Start/Capacitor Run control boxes are a submersible motors starting mechanism. When the sumersible motor is told to start, the start timer relay engages using the start capacitor to help the start winding in the submersible motor accelerate to run speed. After the start timer relay disengages, the motor is switched to the run winding but it adds the start winding with a run capacitor to help lower the amperage by using both windings.
