Winterizing Notice; There is a drain plug (1/4") at bottom front and bottom rear of pump. Failure to remove either, draining water, could cause the housings to crack during the winter and create an expensive repair. Reinstall the plugs after water drained.

Product Features;
A Flint and Walling CJ101P203 pump is a multi-stage centrifugal pump that can be used for various applications such as booster service, water circulation, liquid transfer, cooling systems, and more. If using on a well, its designed for shallow wells with suction lifts to surface of water down to 25′. It has the following features and specifications.
- The CJ101 pump assembly has a Service Plus (exclusively manufactured in America by Flint and Walling) motor that is durable, efficient, and easy to service. The motor is available in NEMA J construction and is 3PH 2HP, dual voltage (230 or 460 volt)
- This pump model has two impellers that are made of Plastic material and are closed type.
- This pump model can deliver 41GPM @ 40PSI of water at a maximum pressure of 67PSI.
- The CJ101 pump can be used as a booster pump, with incoming pressure, but pump cannot exceed 160PSI.
- The CJ101 pumps have a cast iron suction body and discharge port.
- The CJ101 pumps have a cast iron mounting ring that houses a replaceable silicon carbide shaft seal with a stainless-steel spring and a Buna-N elastomer. (if the pump is leaking around the motor shaft, this is usually the problem)
- The CJ101 pump assembly has a rigid steel base assembly and a one-year limited warranty.
- Motor Enclosure: ODP (outdoor drip proof) and is rain proof
- The CJ101 has Suction/Discharge Pipe Sizes - Female NPT: 1-1/2" X 1-1/4"
Product Specification;
- Hertz: 60 Hz
- Motor: 2HP
- Rpm: 3450 RPM
- Phase: 3 Ph (commercial power)
- Volts: 230/460
- SF Amps: 7.4/3.7
- Impeller: Plastic
- Material: Cast Iron

Which impellers do I choose, brass or plastic?
Brass impellers are preferred over plastic impellers in water pumps because they have a higher tensile strength and more elasticity than plastic, making them more resistant to braking, especially with chemicals typically found in well water. It is important to note that most OEM water pumps have plastic impellers and in a well-maintained system should not have any issues.
NOTE: A brass impeller costs many times as much as a plastic impeller to replace. You may want to review parts cost before you choose. CJ101 Replacement Parts
Could I repair this pump?
For handyman talents. It’s best to have a parts breakdown picture handy for a reference. This pump has only 4 through bolts holding it together. Sometimes, after being together for a long time, the parts get stuck together. The suction flange "refer to parts breakdown picture" may need to be separated with a putty knife, but after its free, you must first remove the impeller before proceeding. (lock the motor, where it has a flat on the shaft with a wrench, where shaft protrudes from motor to pump). Unscrew the impeller the same as a nut from a bolt before removing the intermediate stage assembly "refer to parts breakdown picture". The buna rubber seal is in the mounting ring and is best to replace with the motor removed. The seal surface, in the cast iron mounting ring, must be clean before installing the new rear part of seal. Lube rubber to install the new rear seal into the mounting ring with silicone carbide facing you. Reinstall motor, clean motor shaft and lube, then lube inside of outer shaft seal. Slide outer seal on motor shaft with silicone carbon surfaces mating. Install stainless steel spring, then screw on impeller. The following is best done with 2x 3/8" all thread pieces in top 2 holes to keep it aligned while reassembling. Clean gasket surfaces, install gasket required (use grease to retain in place), "square cut O-rings are in the intermediate stage, disassemble, clean cast iron O-ring groves, lube and install new square cut O-ring, then install intermediate stage. Install next impeller, gasket, then suction flange. Install 2x lower bolts, remove all thread, install 2x upper bolts, tighten bolts as required. Check that shaft turns freely. If I doesn't, try standing pump vertically, loosen bolts, make sure the motor shaft turns, and tighten bolts. Your rebuild is complete.

The motor can be replaced without pump disassembly.
Take out 4 bolts attaching motor to pump. On the motor shaft going to pump, break apart motor and pump at the flat on shaft. Pull motor away. Reverse procedure to install replacement motor, attaching shaft to pump before installing motor retaining bolts.
